Is there any wonder why so many have been drawn to this area to build their lives, enrich its history and call it their home? In this tour, we will discover how over the centuries those fleeing wars, persecution and oppression have arrived in this part of the East End of London. See the amazing houses built for the French Huguenots in the 18th Century and where the Jews from Eastern Europe lived, worshipped and sought entertainment. As we follow this important conservation trail we will discover how the vibrant markets have played such an important role in the lives of the people and how the local brewery became one of the largest and most important in London.

A story of amazing contrasts where the rich lived alongside the poor,  philanthropists and social thinkers sought to leave their mark and places of worship changed to keep up with the ever changing demands – this tour is rich in its diversity and surely has something for everyone.
